A bit about me?
Hi, I'm Padraig Simpson. I have recently moved to London in October 2023 to live and work bringing with me my passion for communicating ideas and telling stories. I am a Kiwi but have spent the last 18 months working as a graphic designer in Melbourne and have a small business designing, making, and selling handmade rugs as well as working on freelance projects. While in Melbourne I have been working as a graphic designer/packaging designer for a number of agencies and companies; most recently spent the last 12 months at IsAlbi creating product concepts, packaging design, and email marketing. Having previously studied Human Centred Design and Visual communication, I am currently upskilling and studying a UX-specific Professional diploma at the UX Design Institute. I have a great passion for the intersection of brand identity and user experience, and this is where I am looking to find work.
A bit more about me?
I am from Wellington in New Zealand and it's an awesome place tucked at the bottom of the North Island - it's a little bit small though so 2 years ago I decided to move to Australia for a change of pace and now further away to London to experience some Northern Hemisphere living.
I have always had a love of travel and experiencing new cultures (Spending 2 months in Vietnam and Thailand on our way over from Australia), This has influenced my love for cooking, studying the food and customs of different cultures, and sharing them with my friends (I am currently trying to master el pastor tacos at the moment).
In my downtime, I like to keep fit and healthy (boxing and running) and am always working on some sort of a new project - whether its design based or anything else (I have a small rug making business and love doing portrait paintings). I have a passion for music and am always looking for ways that my work can help the music industry - I have ongoing poster/animation work with NZ techno clubs and record labels.
